WCL forum vs. Crokinole Depot Forum

Postby flicksandknips on Sun Feb 22, 2009 5:35 pm

I'm all for discussing, open debates and sharing in all things crokinole. My question is this: by having two established forums with (at least not to my knowledge) no means of unifying the two, are we potentially hurting the ongoing quality and meaningful longevity of discussions that could take place in a centrally located forum? Or is the benefit (having multiple sites=more resources=people gaining exposure to the game) outweighing the loss (confusion as to which forum to use/keep up with and the loss of interest due to too much switching back and forth). I'm kind of at this crossroads right now, even though I am aware that posts aren't made every day on either forum (yet). It would be nice to address this now before (fingers crossed) we have so many people interested in posting that it becomes an issue. I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on the topic and even the potential for fusing the two together.

Please understand my intent of posting this question: I do not want to harbor resentment between the two (which is kind of hard to do since members of the WCL run this site). I am merely asking if there is a bridge between the two or if we could have one forum listed on both sites. I am in a discussion on the WCL forum currently that is quite interesting and think others who might not post on two different sites are missing out.

Thoughts?

There are a few other Crokinole Forums out there already. We were not the first, and we will not be the last.

Board Game Geek, Yahoo, and Facebook all have similar groups and or forums. While it would be great to have one global forum as you mention, I do not see it happening. Stupid free enterprise! ;)

Our goal was to get more people talking about crokinole. Apparently it is working. I will put up links to the other forums in our links section when I get a chance. This way, people can check out all the forums on crokinole.
